Benefits:

-Can be sent to places too dangerous for humans. With the help of Robotic Probes, we have been able to map out the surface of Venus, which has a runaway greenhouse effect and is covered in sulfuric acid rain.

-They are relatively cheap to launch. Because of this, they can be sent on missions that are too expensive to justify sending a human mission.

-They can be sent on long-term missions. For example, the Voyager probes were launched in 1977 and are still going strong today.

Drawbacks:

-Have limited information. Why? They can only gather data that we programmed them to collect. They also can’t make decisions on their own, so they might miss something important.

-Because they are unmanned, they can be lost easily. If a probe goes off course or has a malfunction, there is no one there to fix it.

-They take a long time to get results. The data has to be collected, sent back to Earth, and then analyzed. This can take years.

Human Missions

Human missions are sent when humans must be in space to gather data or carry out a task. They are much more expensive than robotic probes, but they can gather more detailed information. Human missions also have the advantage of being able to carry out complex tasks that robotic probes are not able to do. However, human missions are also much more dangerous than robotic probes, and there is always the risk that something could go wrong.

Benefits:

-Humans can make decisions on the spot. This means that if something unexpected happens, there will be someone there to decide what to do.

-Humans can gather more data than robotic probes. They can take samples and perform experiments in real-time.

-Humans can react to changes in the environment. For example, if there is a problem with the spacecraft, humans can fix it.

Drawbacks:

-Human missions are much more expensive than robotic probes. This is because humans need food, water, and air to survive in space. They also need special equipment to protect them from the harsh environment of space.

-Human missions are also more dangerous. There is always a risk that something will go wrong and the astronauts will be hurt or killed.

-Because human missions are so expensive, they are often only justified for high-priority targets. This means that we might not explore some places that could be interesting because they are not considered a high priority.
